How to say "It has been a long time since I spoke xxx?" in Spanish Hi there! I find myself always hesitating when I try to tell people that it has been a while since I spoke Spanish. I asked someone, and they told me "Hace mucho tiempo que no hablo español." or "Hace mucho tiempo que no he hablado español." Is this true, or does it depend on the dialect? Native Spanish speakers, qué piensan?

They both may be right, let me recommend you to use the first one thoug becouse the second one sounds wird and robotic. Like google translate kind of thing
