How to speak 1920 x 1080p in English?
1920 x 1080p is a resolution of a video.
Dose it speak as "one thousand twenty plus 1thousand eighty P"?
1920 x 1080i
1280 x 720p
> How to speak 1920 x 1080p/i in English?
Pronounced: "Nineteen-twenty by ten-eighty-pee" or "Nineteen-twenty by ten-eighty-eye."
"One-thousand and ..." and "two-thousand and ..." are less elegant ways to say "ten ... " and "twenty ..." in large numbers such as resolutions and years. How often you hear people saying things rarely correlates to how much of a good idea it is. :)

Hi John,
The way "1920 x 1080 p" is most commonly spoken about is, "Nineteen-twenty BY ten-eighty P".

We usually group our numbers in pairs of 2.
1920 x 1080p
I would say: Nineteen Twenty by Ten Eighty P
1280 x 720p
I would say: Twelve Eighty by Seven Twenty P

I work a lot of av equipment and we normally refer to the second part only. So when I'm purchasing TVs or Projectors, I ask for 1080p (ten eighty P)
