What does "a bit of flash " mean? When confronted with a $30 price tag for a pair of socks, most men would initially hesitate before buying it. But high-quality socks are indeed small luxuries a man can secretly appreciate all day long. Men used to consider bright, patterned socks the exclusive domain of daring fashions. But no longer will the exciting cousin of the boring gray and black socks be kept in the back of the sock drawer. "Men are not afraid of bold socks anymore." said Jay Satter, stylist of the Manhattan rich. "Men go for bright and exciting patterns these days. They know socks that stand out give their personal style a boost such as a bit of flash when they sit down," he added. More and more men thinks there is no need to highlight the shirt to express being stylish if they can do that so much more effectively with their ankle.

To me the sentence is oddly constructed. 'A bit flash' means 'quite stylish' or possibly almost 'vulgarly stylish' In your example, 'a bit OF flash' does not make sense. If I rewrite is as the following.... "They know socks that stand out appear to be a little flash," he added. Means that when the man sits down, it is clear that his unusual socks attract attention. I suspect you are confusing the phrase with 'to show a little flesh" which is to show some skin - which is not at all attractive
