Different.
To open your eyes to something is to realize the truth of something.
To broaden your horizons is just too have new experience, learn more about more concepts.
"This book really opened my eyes to the world, I now know the reality of industrialization and forced child labor.
This book really broadened my horizon, I learned about cultures in Asia and how different they are than Western society.
Do you see the difference?
