What's the difference between 2 phrases: to try one's chance /to take one's chance Hello! Could someone help me to understand is there any difference between these two phrases: to try a chance /to take a chance or they are equal? Thanks beforehead!

I've not heard either of those expressions. You can say 'to take a chance' which means to try something a bit risky hoping you will be lucky and have a positive outcome. Or you can 'try your luck' which has a very similar meaning.

Hi Daria, I've never heard of "Try a chance" - but "to take a chance" is very common. Maybe you meant "try your luck" or "chance my luck"? Another similar phrase is "chance my arm" and all of these "To do something in the hope of a positive outcome" Hope this helps! Sinead
