Is Egyptian Arabic a written language? Hello everyone! Maybe a stupid question. But I am wondering if the Arabic dialects, like Egyptian is also a written language? I understand that MSA is mainly used written. But, for example, if a Egyptian buy a book from a bookshop in Egypt, will this book always be in MSA or sometimes in Egyptian dialect?

Nooooo, you might find some books intentionally written in Egyptian dialect but journals and all formal papers are written in MSA. Yes, people write daily messages in their dialect. Some poets write poems in Egyptians dialect too. GOOD LUCK P.S. your question is not stupid
