Yeah, it's actually a sneaky trick italki uses to get more new members: the "Teachers available now" option is only available to people who still have trial lessons left. Once you've used up your trial lessons, this option disappears. One workaround is to direct-message a teacher you think might be free and ask them if they are, I've done that twice so far and the teacher has accepted my request (with a short delay). Look for teachers who have a whole lot of green in their schedules! đŸ€“ Hope it helps, Ian ~~~ Live, Love, Learn, Laugh...

The answers given don't really "answer" Billy's question. Which is also mine... How do you find teachers that are available "now", not 24hrs in advance, or scheduled at some time in the future... Or is it just not possible? and the lessons always need to be somehow "scheduled" in advance...?

You schedule lessons with a teacher at least 24 hours in advance. You can use “Find a Teacher” on the website, select filters such as price and country, perhaps a filter such as IELTS as a skill. You read the teacher profiles, you watch the teacher videos, then you schedule (and pay for) a lesson with a teacher. Good luck!

Just search the key word that you have in mind, for example Beginner, or you can search by the price that you want to pay, it's easy
