I basically agree with Gary. 5 might be grammatically ok but would be better without "the". But it sounds weird as a stand-alone sentence. It is unfortunate that things happened this way. (good) It is unfortunate that conditions developed this way. (correct but awkward) The grammar of 6 is ok, but its meaning isn't clear. A parent might say "Haven't I raised you better than this?" when disappointed in the actions of his child.

They sound fine to me. I'm struggling to think of where you would use the last two, but they are OK.
