Is it correct to say "take a decision" instead of "make a decision"?

Hi Olena, As DavidK says, in *US English* “make a decision* is more correct and natural. But I believe in UK English “take a decision” is correct/acceptable.

In American English, “make a decision” is much more common and better. But you could hear something like “he took the unfortunate decision to sell his house to his neighbor without determining its true market value”. It could be used in the past and suggests making a decision quickly. But I’d still prefer “made”.

No, 'to make a decision' or 'to decide' are correct, but not 'to take a decision'.
