What's the difference between "brokenhearted" and "heartbroken" Are they synonyms? Any nuances? Thank you.

They are synonyms, identical in meaning without any nuance that I am aware of.

I guess they are mostly synonyms, heartbroken is similar to heartbreaker as well which is a verb. One might say "She was brokenhearted because her love broke up with her" or they might say "she was heartbroken when her dog died."
