google revoke rescind ==>

==>
As verbs the difference between rescind and revoke is that
rescind is to repeal, annul, or declare void; to take (something such as a rule or contract) out of effect while
revoke is to cancel or invalidate by withdrawing or reversing.
.
So rescind means the rule is now void, not used, no longer applied, but revoke means the rule no longer exists.
This seems rather subtle and similar in effect.

You can rescind something but some can revoke something from you.
