Friday (Tuesday) the 13th - what is true in Romania?
Hi! I have a question. I am writing a thesis and there will be a small chapter about the meaning of numbers. I have heard, that in Romania you do not say that Friday the 13th is the day of bad luck, but you have this superstition about Tuesday. But i can not find any informations about it, if it is really true. Can somebody confirm that and maybe give a source on web, where it is written about it (even if it is in Romanian)? Or maybe I am wrong and you fear also the Friday... ;) Mulţumesc!Thank you! In my culture it is also Friday the 13th. Hi, in Romania Tuesday is considered a "bad" day on its own, because it is said that there are 3 bad/unlucky hours every Tuesday. I was aware of this superstition, like I guess every Romanian is, but I didn't know what's the explanation behind it before I saw your question. So I googleed it and found out that according to astrology, every day has two unlucky hours (the hours which corresponds to Mars and Saturn), but Tuesday and Saturday, the former being governed by Mars, the latter by Saturn, have an extra bad hour, so that's what make it a "special" day. I didn't know that Saturday also has 3 bad hours though.

Hi , Friday the 13th occurs when the thirteenth day of a month falls on Friday, which superstition holds to be a day of good or bad luck. In the Gregorian calendar, this day occurs at least once, but at most three times a year. Any month's 13th day will fall on a Friday if the month starts on a Sunday. In 2009 this applied to the months of February, March, and November. The next year to have three Friday the 13th dates will be 2012.
