hey, vnots, i will add more with example you need. 我来举例补充说明。 more exactly, "得(de in the second sound)" is inserted bewteen a verb and an adverbial, while "地" is always followed by a verb e.g. 我们过得幸福=我们幸福地生活=we livehappily 笑得真心=真心地笑=laugh sincerely 说得慢而清楚=慢慢地、清晰地说=speak slowly but clearly Besides used after a verb as an adverbial,“得”sometimes also means "have (got) to/ had better do.../might as well". but it's necessary to point out that in this case “得(dei)” should be pronunciate in the second sound, , for example 1) 我得(dei)先完成手头上的事才可和你外出. i have got to deal with things at hand before i go out with u. 2)你得(dei)先知会一下妈妈。you'd better inform mom of this. if u want to use them both in a sentence, then them should be used in the following way, 3)我们得(dei)忘却那些不愉快的过往, 从此开开心心地活着。 If we want to live happily together with each other, we might as well forget those unhappiness. 4) example of "得(de)" used after verb together with "地" in the same sentence: 当吃得(de)太饱时,慢慢地走有利消化。while eating too much and you feel full, then walking slowly is good for digestion.

“得” is mostly used after a verb, eg. 说得很慢,跑得很快。 “地”is mostly used after an adverb, before a verb, eg. 慢慢地说,大声地笑

“得”use to modify a sentence or a verb, a little like the adverbial adjunct in English. e.g.生活得很好。 “地”use to modify a verb, like the adverb in English. e.g. 很好地生活。
