what does "the truth may bear all lights" mean, especially the phrase of "bear all light"..Thank you! Great comic art is never otherworldly, it does not seek to mystify us, and it does not ambiguity by branding as evil whatever differs from good. Great comic artists assume that truth may bear all lights, and thus they seek to accentuate contradictions in social action, not gloss over or transcend them by appeals to extrasocial symbols of divine ends, cosmic purpose, or laws of nautre. The moment of transcendence in great comic art is a social moment, born out of the conviction that we are human, even though we try to be gods. The comic community to which artists address themselves is a community of reasoning, loving, joyful, compassionate beings, who are willing to assume the human risks of acting rationally. .............

Ah - it's an English reading comprehension exercise! "Bear all lights" could mean "tolerate any perspective", in this case the light being the light you shine on truth. So no matter what light you use to view it, the truth will always be seen. It's a strangely florid phrase - I could equally read "bear" as in "to carry", meaning that truth will always enlighten. Actually the whole passage seems overwritten, and skewed, but I suppose that's part of the reading exercise. :)

First some advice. You shouldn't read such garbage! But since you ask let e try to answer. No matter what kind of light you shine on the truth, the truth is able to present itself and remain what it is. In other words, you can try to distort it, and even mass brainwash whole nations (e.g. China), but the truth will always remain what it is.
