We use "Te echo de menos" in Spain. Of course we understand "Te extraño" but it is less frequent.

"Te echo de menos" (no "H" as it comes from the verb "echar", not "hacer") is mostly used in Spain, while "Te extraño" is used in Latin America. Both are right, but each of them is typically used in different countries.
