Worth is a noun: Your worth is great or a preposition: This ancient edition of the Linux manual is worth hundreds of dollars Worthy is an adjective: Was captain Ahab worthy of his command ? A prime minister in southern Europe is not worthy of his position. Or (seldom) a noun: Summing up all of the firm's worthies exceed xyz dollars.

Worth means the same as "value". It can describe how good, bad, important, desirable, useful, or valuable something is. Example: I found a gold coin, it must be worth a lot of money! Worthy usually describes something as "deserving attention, effort, or respect". Example: The man saved the boy's life, he is worthy of the award!

Worth ( adjective ) Example Our house is worth about £100 000. How much is this painting worth? to be worth a bomb / packet / fortune (= a lot of money) It isn’t worth much. If you answer this question correctly, it’s worth five points. ............................ Worthy : ( noun ) to be worthy of attention A number of the report’s findings are worthy of note. No composer was considered worthy of the name until he had written an opera. a worthy champion (= one who deserved to win) He felt he was not worthy of her.

It seems to be one more difference between them. For example. You can use worth in this way. Worth doing something, well worth doing something, worth while doing something. This film is worth seeing. The book is worth while reading. The problem isn't well worth discussing. And the second, to be worthy of somebody, something, as Garretop has written. One more sentence with it. His behaviour is worthy of great praise. I wish it will be useful.
