Advice is a proposal for an appropriate course of action. Recommend is to express a good opinion of.

There is a minor difference between these two words. In the United States, advice is given and the giver almost expects the other person to do what the advice says. If you recommend something, the idea that the giver of the recommendation is trusted, but the recommendation can be ignored without penalty. Generally, in the United States, advice is not particularly welcomed, but people don't mind recommendations.

They are similies which means they have a similar meaning but may be used in different ways.
