To encourage someone means to give support to someone so they can do something or continue to do something they are already doing. Like to give hope. For example, When someone learns a language. You encourage them to keep studying or reading books in that language so they can get better. Or you encourage someone not to give up on something. To promote has a few meanings. You can get promoted to a better position in your job. Or to move higher up in rank in school or military. It can also mean to promote a product you are trying to sell by advertising it so it can sell better. It means progress to move up. Example: you are a student but after showing you do great work, you get promoted to be a teacher. Hope that makes sense.

Encourage cesaretlendirmek, gaza getirmek :) promote terfi almak, bir urunu veya hizmeti pazarda one cikartma cabasina da promote denir.

Off the top of my head: "Encourage" is used for people's actions/behavior. Example: "I tried to encourage Susie when she was feeling sad." "Promote" is used for objects, things, plants, and functions. Example: I gave the plant a lot of food, water, and sunshine to promote better growth. "promote" is also used to let someone know they are getting a higher paying job with more power/responsibility in their business. Example: "My boss promoted me to be a manager at Enterprise Rent-A-Car from being a cashier!"
