TeacherBecoming an English teacher and gaining vital experience in a classroom has made for a terrific year. From aiding small children with their studies to helping adults achieve high grades to get them a better job in the future. Encouraging students of all ages the importance of learning a second language. I have learnt a lot in the past year from how to keep teenagers engaged and focussed for longer, to helping struggling students keep up with the rest of the class.

Today was my 20th lesson with Sam.
I enjoy the conversations about various topics we go into.
It helps me to explain myself better and improve my response time.
The grammar lessons are more relaxed, so you do not feel like you are in school. Sam lets you speak most of the time, which is a good thing.
I know it is hard to start to speak in front of a stranger in a foreign language. Especially when you are new to Italki. (Nobody wants to be looked down on and ridiculed.)
But there is no need to be scared.

Sam is a great teacher—kind, enthusiastic and full of energy in every lesson. He creates a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, so there is no reason to feel anxious or intimidated. I especially appreciate how he personalizes his lessons, choosing topics that suit my interests. During our sessions, he sends me corrections in the chat, allowing me to see my mistakes immediately without disrupting the flow of conversation.
