Me as a Teacher
I LOVE Japanese language. You have no idea just how much it has made my life so much more colorful and brighter! I find it so beautiful and interesting. I love the sound, the looks, and the flow of it. It is my first priority to make you see the beauty of this language and fall in love with it ;) As I believe education only fails when students stop loving what they learn, whereas love is that magical touch that turns you into a Japanese-absorbing sponge (hahaha..😆
As a Chinese native, I'll be able to give you some Chinese input/perspective into Kanji, e.g. why they pronounce/write that way. It helps to make you understand better terms and idioms.
My lessons & teaching style
I will design every class for each one of you to suit your specific needs and your current progress.
Design concept: top quality, flexible, creative, FUN
🌟 For Non-Test-Takers
- Stress-free!
- Less or even no emphasis on grammar (Grammar is boring. Let's just acquire grammar naturally, instead of studying it)
- Well balanced input learning and output practice
🌟 For Test-Takers
- More of an analytical/logic-based style
- Prep schedule making
- Original Kanji learning materials (I can almost guarantee you pass even JLPT N1 Kanji part with flying colors, if not full marks💯 )
- Mock test
- Lots of grammar
- Memory techniques
⭕️ 如果你希望我用中文與你溝通和講解知識點,當然沒問題的哈~
I've learnt a lot from Grace so far and I look forward to learning more. Grace has a deep knowledge of Japanese culture and a great teaching style, she can adjust to whatever goals and needs I have at the time.
Grace is able to explain the nuances of Japanese speech and teaches sentences used in casual native conversations (not just in textbooks). I've learnt that correct Japanese varies a lot depending on the context and she can explain the common forms to use in different situations.

I've now taken nearly 70 lessons with Grace sensei. The more I've got to know Grace sensei the more and more I've realised she is passionate about teaching and has a keen interest in helping me achieve my goals. Our lessons have been following a similar format, we end up having a free talk at the start of the lesson before progressing to grammar, kanji or translation (watching a TV programme and dissecting the various elements). As Grace sensei is Chinese, she is absolutely fantastic with kanji. I really enjoy picking apart kanji with Grace sensei as she can go beyond the Japanese kanji and deep into the related Chinese characters. However, Grace sensei is more than just a kanji master, she is a master of everything Japanese and, being Chinese, can add a lot of background information that many native Japanese people wouldn't be aware of. 本当にありがとうございました。また次のレッスンで会いましょう

Grace is a really good teacher! She has amazing teaching methods and any pupil would be lucky to have her as a teacher. She really inspires me to learn and is much better than any of the language teachers I have had at my school. The lessons are fun, interactive, and include great materials. Grace herself is just so nice and polite, I can't wait for my Japanese learning journey to continue with her!

Could tell she is a very nice and caring person just from the first taster lesson already. Very reassuring and encouraging.

Really enjoyed my first lesson with Grace. At first, I was nervous, but she put me at ease and spoke in comprehensible Japanese whilst adapting and gauging my current level. We talked about different learning methodologies that encourage play and not solely using academic language textbooks. She kindly shared resources and her experiences learning Japanese. Overall it was an incredibly encouraging lesson and has helped me rethink my language learning. Thank-you Grace!
