Hej! My name is Maria, trevligt att träffas!
I am 29 years old and currently live in Göteborg, Sweden, but have previously lived in several different countries and I spent most of my adulthood travelling around the world. I work as a teacher at an upper secondary school.
My educational background includes a BSc in physical geography, MSc in environmental science as well as a MA in upper secondary education. I enjoy discussing a wide range of topics such as travel, history, environment, sociology, culture and politics. Hoppas vi ses! :)Me as a Teacher
I am an enthusiastic and patient teacher that takes their job seriously. I believe that it is important to always do your job properly, no matter what your job is, so I will never show up unprepared or appear unengaged during a lesson 🙂
Being a native speaker, I have a good ear for the differences between spoken and written Swedish, so I can help you clear any doubts that you might have, as well as give you suggestions on how to phrase your sentences to sound like a native. I also have good knowledge of the structure of the Swedish language and can help you with any questions related to grammar, syntax or semantics and explain it to you in a clear and comprehensible manner.My lessons & teaching style
In a conversation lesson I will take into account your current abilities and adjust the pace and complexity of the conversation to match your level. We can either chat informally with no particular lesson plan, or focus on a topic or material that you'd like to discuss (in which case I can suggest some materials for you). I will let you know beforehand what topic the lesson will focus on, so that you have time to prepare in order to get the most out of the lesson.
If you prefer a structured lesson, we can discuss beforehand any specific materials you'd like to use and prioritize addressing any particular language gaps you may have. Don't worry if you're a beginner, we all start somewhere!My teaching material

Maria is a very dedicated and passionate teacher. I realized she could adapt her teaching style to my needs quickly. In terms of providing suitable materials, she is very resourceful. During our conversations, she is very sharp, writing words and phrases I can read and work on later. Maria has amazing etymological knowledge, leading to a faster and more effective language understanding. Maria is also very intellectual, and conversing with her is quite rewarding. Maria is an amazing tutor! As I teacher myself I can see that she is very devoted to helping her students learn Swedish. She is also very passionate about teaching. My lessons with Maria have been fantastic! She is incredibly patient and always adapts the lessons to suit my interests, ensuring I grasp everything fully. Each lesson is not only educational but also enjoyable and interactive as she is a very knowledgeable and engaging person herself. The diverse materials and activities she provides really help me progress in speaking, listening, and understanding Swedish. I also really appreciate that she takes the time to write down and explain everything I misspell and provides structured feedback.
