Ruri sensei has honestly helped my confidence so much. For so long I’ve been so scared to learn Japanese despite it being my life goal. As someone with a learning disability I was always scared that I would never be able to become fluent. Ruri sensei not only encourages me but she teaches me in ways that are so easy to understand. You can tell she genuinely cares and wants her students to learn in the most positive environment. I can’t thank her & recommend her enough!!! 🤍

Rurii has been the perfect teacher for me, always helping me learn more, always making the classes fun and interesting, I've learned so much with her and I've been able to break down the language barrier and make Japanese friends and enjoy Japanese media, the kindest teacher I've even come across, with fluency in Spanish, English and of course, Japanese, she taught me Japanese from all of those perspectives,I am truly thankful for all of the effort she's put to help me learn! in my opinion as a teacher she's 10/10 and as a person she is 20/10

I had another great lesson with るり先生! The conversation topics she chooses to practice speaking are always interesting. I learn something new each time. Even though my speaking ability is still at a beginner's level, I feel encouraged to keep trying.

This was my last class of 2023 with Ruri, and started taking classes with her in February of this same year!! Time flies when you are really comfortable 😊
I've noticed an exponential growth in my Japanese level ever since I started studying with Ruri. Even on days I don't feel very confident with my Japanese, after I take a class with her I feel so much better and super motivated to continue to learn. She also teaches me so many cultural aspects from Japan which I love (understanding the culture that surrounds a language is so important to me).
I promise no one would regret trying a class with her, there are very few teachers with her ability!! So so sooo kind, professional, organised and adapts quickly. I feel like I won the teacher lottery with Ruri.
本当にいつもありがとうございます、るり先生 🩵

I had a great lesson today with るり先生。It's been a little bit since our last lesson because I was away traveling so I was really looking forward to our lesson today. I was a little nervous because I've been busy and haven't been able to study or even think about Japanese as much as I want. But once the lesson started the atmosphere with るり先生 felt really familiar and I felt like I was able to get comfortable speaking again right away.
After our speaking practice talking about 面白いサービス, we covered the next section in Genki II about といいですね・といいですが。I was really happy to learn this and go over it since it feels like it would be really useful in talking and writing as well. I'm glad that るり先生 was there to go over it with me because she could guide me in making my usage more natural. Sometimes the instincts that I get just from reading the textbook feel a little off, and I feel like I get a lot out of our lessons because るり先生's guidance and suggestions make a lot of sense to me. ありがとうございました!

I had a lot of fun in my class today with るりせんせい!Today in our speaking practice, we spent time talking about 高級な食べ物。It was fun speaking about some of the different food that I've eaten in Japan in the past, as well as foods that I have yet to eat. I feel like I'm getting more comfortable stringing thoughts together and putting them into words in conversation.
After speaking practice, we covered the next section in Lesson 16 of Genki II. One thing I really appreciate about going over the grammar with るり先生 is how she spends time breaking things down and relating it to things that I've already learned - she had a nice chart of where request words like てください are relative to the request words we covered today. As I might be able to use Japanese at work, I really appreciate learning more about the cultural meanings of using certain words / grammar so that I can use them appropriately when the opportunity comes!
