I have been interested in philosophy since I was in junior high school, and when I think about the Japanese language, I often find myself thinking about philosophical issues at the same time. For example, the Japanese binding particle “wa” has the function of transcending grammatical logic and fixing the topic of the entire sentence until its period, and there has been a unsolved problem about what the “subject” really is in the Japanese language. This is quite analogous to how philosophy attempts to describe the pre-logical or the meta-logical in a way as consistent as possible. And such attempts seem to resemble the act of teaching someone an unknown language.
Me as a Teacher
When I was a university student, I tutored elementary and junior high school students; I enjoyed myself a lot in teaching something.
My lessons & teaching style
I am constantly experimenting in interaction to students' individual curiosity without being bound by preconceived methods of teaching Japanese. Every lesson can be a creative act. The contents of the lessons I am currently giving/have given are as follows:
01) Characteristics of Japanese
02) Deconstruct "Minna no Nihongo"
03) Read news in easy words
04) Conversations about topics of interest

Great first lesson. Even though I still find it hard to express myself in Japanese and the fact that we were chatting about rather difficult philosophical subjects, Masaharu先生 still understood what I was trying to say and we were able to have a very interesting conversation.
