About Me

Hello! My names Ryan. I'm a language teacher, linguist, translator, and all-around language nerd I graduated from university with a degree in Linguistics, and have taught English, Hebrew and Arabic for several years. I understand very well the challenges of studying foreign languages and living in another country, as I myself have lived abroad and am an avid language learner myself. Outside of language learning I like reading, playing music, watching movies, dancing, acrobatics, and staying active and being outside.

Me as a Teacher

As a teacher I'm patient and encouraging. I'm motivated to help you as best I can - I want you to get as much as possible from each session! Each session I'll be keeping a document tracking new phrases, words, expressions, corrections, and pronunciation notes. I'll ask questions to foster improvement and push you to use your language in new and creative ways. I believe in cultural literacy, and creative methods to improve! I'll bring in materials from media, radio, television, literature, news that show the culture. The bottom line: I do my very best to make our sessions effective, engaging, and fun for all my students.

Learning new languages is a life-enriching experience, and there is nothing more rewarding than learning to speak with confidence and clarity in a second language! As a tutor, I personalize my lessons to your needs and wants. Whether you are an advanced speaker who has hit a wall, or a beginning student who doesn't know a word, I’ll craft my lessons to you. We’ll work together, build your skills and confidence in the language, and have fun doing so.
