My name is Ekaterina Gritsan. I graduated from Lomonosov Moscow State University with a degree in Byzantine and Modern Greek Philology. Also, I have a master's degree in French literature from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, where I am currently studying my PhD in early Modern Greek folk literature. For the last fifteen years I have been living in Greece, in the magnificent city of Thessaloniki, which has preserved many traces of the rich Greek history.Me as a Teacher
I am a certified teacher of Greek language (Ancient and Modern) and literature, as well as Russian as a foreign language. At the moment I have been teaching Greek for twenty years and Russian for fifteen years. I prepare students for certification exams in Greek ("Πιστοποίησης Επάρκειας της Ελληνομάθειας") and for exams for obtaining Greek citizenship, as well as for State certification exams in Russian as a foreign language. In addition, I teach Latin to high school students. My teaching experience also includes teaching ancient Greek and Modern Greek literature.My lessons & teaching style
I believe that sometimes teachers do not reveal the potential of students, as they apply a unique method to all students, so I always try to understand the individual needs and a student-specific approach to learning. Based on this information, I create or compile material that is suitable specifically for him. Also, I try to listen to their wishes and complaints in order to improve the material I use. Thus, I use both standard textbooks and my own materials, as well as audio-visual materials.My teaching material

Katerina brings many wonderful techniques to my lessons. She pays attention to all of my requests and exceeds my expectations. For example, I asked if I can learn medical terms. So she created lessons, readings, and homework assignments associated with medicine. She is also very flexible. For example, today I came to the lesson without having done my homework. She did not get upset or appear frustrated in the least. Rather she immediately adjusted the lesson so that we could cover something else and so that I could do the missed homework before the next lesson. She has a lot of patience and gentleness and is very supportive. I really enjoy working with her!

What a wonderful teacher! Even if for my first lesson, she emailed me to find out my level and goals and then put a lot of time and effort to make a wonderfully thorough lesson with exercises that were 100% in line with what I needed and asked for. During the lesson, she adjusted the speed and level of vocabulary to meet my needs. Then after we finished, she emailed me a few things as a follow-up to some unanswered questions. I am so excited to be working with Katerina and can't wait to improve my Greek with her on a weekly basis!!!
