Languages are my passion! Being a native speaker of Russian and Ukrainian, I have also learned English and reached a near-native level of proficiency. My language knowledge is not limited to those three languages as I have studied German, French, Latin and a little Italian. My linguistic background helps me find effective ways of teaching languages.
I love to discuss various topics, especially linguistics, literature, culture, psychology and of course music as it is one of my biggest hobbies :)
Me as a Teacher
My academic credentials include Master's degree in English Philology and Translation. My native proficiency in Russian and Ukrainian as well as the knowledge of language learning methodology enable me to teach those three languages. Totally I have eight years of experience teaching students of all ages and backgrounds.
I am an enthusiastic language learner myself, so I know what problems you may encounter through your learning process and I can help you overcome them.
My lessons & teaching style
My approach is communicative, aimed at making students talk as much as possible. I have a flexible teaching style, so I can tailor our lessons to your individual requirements and goals. Thus we will focus on things that are the most important to you.
I teach different types of lessons including conversation practice, grammar, exam preparation, proofreading, job interview preparation, movie discussions etc. Moreover, I provide translation services on request. Professional classes are thoroughly planned and structured. I usually use Google Drive to share lesson materials. Informal tutoring is speaking practice only and it does not include any preparation for the lesson.

Dear J,
we have just had our 100th lesson. We made quite a long trip together, and I 'd like to thank you for the time and the efforts you've done teaching me to be more fluent, correct and competent in writing and speaking English. You've done a great job, and I'm very proud of my enhancements, even if there are still lot of achievements to be reached.
When you started teaching me, more than two years ago, I wasn't able to read anything else than technical texts. Now, I am enjoying books like “The men from st.Petersburg, by Ken Follet” or “the picture of Dorian Grey, by Oscar Wilde”. I am better at seeing movies in English (without subtitles), and I feel more confident if I have to write an email to an English-speaking colleague.
You are helping me a lot with your friendliness and your ability to make me comfortable when I face the difficulties of speaking in a foreign language. I appreciate your precision when correcting me, even when I repeat the same mistake many times.
I have spoken with you for so long and about lots of topics, that I feel confident to tell you (quite) everything, as I can do with a friend.
I perfectly know that we are not friends, as we have never met except through a Skype call, but I can say that knowing I will meet you again next week is a real pleasure to me.
