I grew up in a small town in Pennsylvania, USA; I also lived 8 years in the state of North Carolina. I began learning the Russian language while living in NC, and visited Ukraine in 2018, where I met my wife. We currently live in southern Turkey. My careers have also included ecommerce, online marketing and Search Engine Optimization. I enjoy having interesting conversations about pets, traveling, snowboarding, cycling, cars, motorcycles, crypto and investing. I especially enjoy when an intermediate - advanced student arrives to class with specific questions. One of my students once called me: 'a kinder Sheldon.'

Me as a Teacher

I have over 4 years experience as an online, one-on-one ESL tutor. I teach using CELTA style techniques. I enjoy teaching naturally by encouraging my students to speak the language. My goal is to improve my students' comfort and confidence by explaining how English is spoken and used in America. I remain neutral in political affairs, please don't be shy to book with me: politics are politics, people are people no matter where they come from. I have taught kids and adults from around the world, including Japan, Korea, China, Turkey, Europe, Russia and Brazil. If you are a child, I only request that you are at least conversational. : )

My lessons & teaching style

My students will practice speaking or reading as much as possible in a relaxed atmosphere. I prefer conversation style lessons, where I can help my students improve through a natural use of the language. My lessons are focused on what you need, including Grammar, Reading lessons which can help with fluency and vocabulary building. We can also just spend time talking and learning the language through practicing with a native speaker. I am patient and kind. My main goal is for my students to learn something in each lesson. I have learned the Russian language & lived in Ukraine for over two years, so I understand how it feels to learn and speak a different language.
