Hi, my name is Claudia and I am Hungarian, but I grew up in the United States, so I grew up speaking Hungarian with my family and speaking English in my classes and with my friends. Later on, I learned Spanish when studying abroad in Peru and Chile, and I am now studying French in the south of France. As you may tell, I love languages but in my free time I also love hiking, swimming and cooking recipes that I learned from my nagymama (my grandma).
Me as a Teacher
I go to language meet-ups regularly to provide language learners with opportunities to speak face-to-face in a relaxed environment. I cater my conversations depending on the level of whomever I am speaking to. I have tutored high schoolers with English as a Second Language (ESL students) for two years, and I have helped students practice Spanish for three years.
My lessons & teaching style
My teaching style is inviting and fun. The best way to learn a language is through child-like senses, so I approach teaching in a playful way, even for adults. Acquiring a language can be intimidating, which is why I believe that exposure to languages in controlled settings is a great way to boost students’ confidence. I aim to provide students with engaging and rewarding lessons, filled with story-telling and conversations.
