Hello! My name is Ryan, and I am an American living abroad in Brazil with my lovely wife! I am a TEFL certified teacher, and I am a current language learner myself, learning Portuguese, so I understand the challenges of speaking a second language. I am from the south in the USA, and that means friendliness, patience, and hospitality in my lessons. I always try to make the lessons both fun and engaging, while bringing my culture and experiences into the lesson. I will be a great teacher for you if you want to learn some of the culture of the USA alongside the English studies, because I am a strong believer that a language is not just words, but the culture of the people who speak it.My lessons & teaching style
I use the English File textbook primarily, but I focus on a communicative approach, that is, I focus on getting you talking on day 1, and communicating ideas as soon as possible. I teach with a fun, engaging style tailored to your needs. While the lessons can be a lot of fun, they are also structured. We usually begin with a few minutes of conversation as a warm up before going into new work, then some different ways of practicing what you've learned.My teaching material
