Helen Tian

This is my third lesson and the shadowing and listening we did was so helpful, i think i am going to built it into my self-study too. It's also great to get conversation practice where I can get lots of repetition of the important phrases and sentence-order i need to learn too, so it really starts to stick! I will study hard before my next lesson, 加油！

We've been studying together for four years, twice per week, every week from HSK 0 to the threshold of HSK 5. Helen is an amazing teacher.

I love that Helen always encourages me to speak more Chinese. During class we follow a textbook but we also have conversations about different topics. She also incorporates new vocabulary. I enjoy her classes a lot and I always learn something new in each class. For those of you that also study writing, Helen knows a lot about characters and how they are formed and their meaning.

Another excellent lesson and i am happy to be able to see the improvements i am making with Helen's help - i find it really helpful to find my weaknesses as we work too, so i know exactly what to work on during my self-study, and i love that we can have a fun lesson but we stay on-task at the same time!

A really exciting first lesson, with lots of speaking which has improved my confidence already, and planning for my goals which I had come to Helen with. Her calm demeanour also really helps with the anxiety that video-lessons can make me feel! I am really pleased that she can provide the structure I need, and I'm looking forward to making some progress with the help of her guidance. :)
