Hi, I’m Hiro! I’m a native Japanese speaker from Tokyo with over 2 years of experience teaching Japanese to students from diverse backgrounds.
I teach in both English and Japanese, offering personalized lessons in Business Japanese, JLPT preparation, Conversational Japanese, and Japanese for beginners.
I am also personally taking online English conversation lessons to brush up on my English, so I understand the challenges of learning a second language and can relate to the difficulties you may face in mastering Japanese.

During my studies in the U.S., I taught Japanese for 2 years to Asian and American students, as well as working professionals, helping them achieve their language goals. At Columbia University, I majored in Comparative Literature, which deepened my understanding of language and culture. My teaching approach focuses on creating customized lessons tailored to each student’s goals and proficiency level, with a particular emphasis on Business Japanese. Additionally, with over 20 years of experience teaching English, I bring a deep understanding of effective language instruction and cross-cultural communication, ensuring high-quality, engaging lessons that meet your needs.My lessons & teaching style

If you want to learn Business Japanese, I recommend masteing the basics first before taking lessons. For example, it is preferable to have passed at least JLPT N3 or higher.
