Having grown up in Germany and spent my childhood years living in Australia, I developed a profound appreciation for living internationally. When I turned 10, my family and I moved back to the States, and I faced firsthand the challenges of adapting and learning to adjust to a new culture. I have deep empathy and understanding for ESL students who are often faced with the same challenges; a significant motivating factor in helping students feel prepared for success in a new cultural and academic environment.
I live in Seattle, WA, surrounded by the stunning landscapes of the Pacific Northwest. I enjoy exploring the beautiful Cascade Mountains and the Olympic Peninsula in my free time.Me as a Teacher
I have been teaching ESL for the past 14 years with Rosetta Stone, where I had the privilege of leading over 20,000 classes for learners of all ages and levels from more than 50 countries. My experience includes working with business professionals, children ages 5-14, and learners who are speaking English with a native speaker for the first time.My lessons & teaching style
I believe my success as a teacher stems from my deep awareness of students' needs. I shape my lessons by observing and responding to what I perceive a student needs at any given moment. With experience teaching hundreds of lesson plans for students of all levels, I can quickly draw on my knowledge to provide effective, targeted content and activities tailored to each student's needs. I take pride in identifying areas for growth quickly, often applying this approach to support multiple students in larger classes.
It has been a true pleasure to watch students grow in confidence, progressing from A1 learners to near-native speakers at C2 levels, able to speak spontaneously and at great length.My teaching material
