I'm a professional Arabic teacher with more than 11 years of experience in Modern Standard Arabic and Egyptian Colloquial. I have (CCTAFL) from the (AUC) and 2 Diplomas in teaching Arabic for foreigners from Cairo University. currently I am studying Master's in the same field. I started working as an Arabic teacher more than 11 years ago. During this time I have taught students from various countries and of different ages. They are learning Arabic for several reasons such as conversation, politics, Islam and literature. We have enjoyed learning with photos, videos, music and games to develop the different skills like speaking, listening, reading and writing. I studied two diplomas in teaching Arabic to foreigners at Cairo University and a course at the American University in Cairo and currently I am studying Master's in the same field. I've been working with Sara for almost a year! I really appreciate her for her knowledge, teaching style, charisma, and skill. I started working with her before I went to Egypt last April and was able to learn enough to feel safe taking Ubers by myself, and to shop and haggle at the market. I had the best of times practicing what I learned in Egypt and my weekly lessons with Sara were truly instrumental. I especially appreciate her patience, encouragement, and flexibility. I've been working with Sara for about 10 months now, meeting with her 2-3 times per week to practice conversational Egyptian Arabic. I am Egyptian but was raised in the US, so I speak decently well but have a lot of room for improvement. Sara has really helped me to take my Arabic fluency to the next level. I recently traveled back to Egypt and I felt a lot more comfortable and confident speaking entirely in Arabic, even with strangers. Sara uses a variety of materials-- we follow the Kalimni Arabi book series for an academic approach, but also discuss TV shows (she has many great recommendations), news, politics, family issues, and so much more. Sara is easy to talk to, does a great job correcting mistakes without making you feel any shame, is funny and personable, and overall I really enjoy our lessons together. I highly recommend Sara!
