My name is Muneer, and I teach South African Sign Language. I am currently completing my honors degree in SA Sign Language.
When I am not studying or teaching, I create content on TikTok where I teach SA Sign Language or go running as a fitness activity.Me as a Teacher
I have been teaching at a school for The Deaf for the past 4 years. My learners ranged from as young as 7 to as old as their early 20s. I have also worked with autistic learners on different spectrums.My lessons & teaching style
I am a very practical teacher, my lessons will consist of mostly hands on practice and reinforcement until my student can speak sin language. Tests will not be seen as a "grading" however it will be a constant integration in my lessons from the get-go. There will be three types of tests. Firstly, there will be a receptive test, where my student tells me what is being signed. Secondly there will be a signing test where the learner signs what is being shown or said. Lastly there will be a production test, where the student signs out of their own creativity. This will happen in every lesson, ensuring a drilling for the language that will be hard to find anywhere else.My teaching material
