Andrina

Andrina is the best teacher I have found. I have worked with many spanish teachers, on this platform and on others. Most are good, some are great but Andrina is the best. She is rigorous and critical, but at the same time she is patient and kind. This is what you need to progress through the learning process. Learning a language is hard, but teaching a language is harder. You need a teacher who is prepared for every lesson, and willing to do the work necessary to take you through the language. Andrina does this seemingly effortlessly. It seems effortless because she has true mastery of spanish, and she has a mastery of english. She understands the nuances of each language and she is able to teach these nuances clearly. At a certain point in your language learning journey you are going to have to decide if you are willing to work to achieve fluency, and when you are, come to Andrina.

I have completed more than forty lessons with Andrina over the last several months, and I plan to continue taking her classes well into the future. I have had many Spanish teachers over the last several years, and Andrina is (by far!) the best teacher I have had. For the first time, I am making measurable progress toward fluency, and I owe that to Andrina´s excellent teaching. Every class, Andrina reviews my homework, discusses any mistakes I have made, offers mini lessons within the homework to explain the logic behind the corrections, practices conversation with me, and discusses how we will move forward with the next lesson. The homework is always interesting and helpful, and it often teaches me something new about Mexican culture and traditions. Her explanations of grammar, vocabulary, and colloquial spanish are always clear and memorable. And, the best part for me is that conversation with Andrina is wonderful! Andrina is the best!

Andrina is a gifted teacher. She can detect what you're struggling with and zero in with targeted lessons on the topic. She’s able to make lessons challenging but not frustrating. My Spanish is much improved after a few months. I’ve also learned some English grammar from Andrina. I’m convinced her English is also stronger than mine. Our lessons are fun. We laugh a lot. I’ve learned a lot about Mexican food, fun and culture. I've searched out Mexican bakeries, restaurants, books, movies and TV shows based on our lessons. It's fun to return and discuss my latest findings and adventures. Andrina has been my teacher for several months. She is someone I look forward to reconnecting with each week. I send her pictures of my family and the things we do each week. Reporting on my what I do each week has helped me to improve my ability to conjugate past tense verbs. At this point is more than a teacher. She is a friend. If you're looking for teacher recommend Andrina.

My Spanish is greatly benefitting from working with Andrina. I'm an experienced italki learner so I can say that Andrina distinguishes herself by actually teaching: she doesn't just converse with you---though there is utility in that---but instead has structured lessons with review from last time and formalized introductions to new grammatical topics. Thus, she both reinforces what you learned last time and ensues forward progress is made. I highly recommend her.
