About Me

Hi everyone! I hope you are well. My name's Jake, I'm 28 years old and I'm an avid traveller. I love sports and exercise (I'm a big Manchester United fan), I play the guitar just for fun and really enjoy going out with friends and having a dance. I'm a massive linguaphile, and am a student here on iTalki myself. I'm fluent in Spanish, speak good French, some ok Portuguese and have learned a bit of Italian, German and Arabic too! I really love to get to know new people and new cultures, so I'd love to have a chat with you while also helping you with your English. Please do book a lesson and tell me about your country and culture!

Me as a Teacher

In terms of qualifications, I have a TEFL qualification (100%) for teaching English. I have also previously taught English as a private tutor while in Spain (6 months), tutoring a mixture of beginner and more intermediate levels. I'm also a language student myself, meaning I have spent many hours in language classes (both group classes and one-on-one) and know what it is I look for in a language lesson and in a tutor. It also means I understand how difficult and frustrating learning a language can be sometimes! But don't worry, I'm here to motivate you through it and help you achieve your goals :) In case useful to know, my accent in English is a London/Southern British accent.

My lessons & teaching style

I'm mainly focusing on conversation classes, so those of an intermediate/advanced level who want to practise their fluency/accent while having a chat.
