About Me
italki teacher since Nov 6, 2016
Self Introduction: I was born in Yokohama and raised along the sea. I spent my school days in a town called Hakone, which is famous for its hot springs, the fishing port where fresh fish are caught every day (sushi is delicious!), plenty of cherry blossom trees, the ruins of the warring ages etc. So, if you ever visit Japan, please contact me! I love to watch English movies and chat with my friends in Chinese. I studied Chinese in Taiwan two and a half years ago, and now I live in China.

Me as a Teacher
Since November 2017, I have been working as a Community Tutor at Italki. Besides classes on the Internet, I also teach in the classroom. My students range from junior high school to adults of all ages. I have also had lessons with kindergarten students and elementary school children. I love studying foreign languages myself. Even though sometimes I feel I have run into a brick wall. Still, I feel that I improve rapidly in one day if I work hard and don’t give up!
My lessons & teaching style
My classes focus in on conversation, grammar, pronunciation, listening, writing, and reading. Here are some of the lesson methods: Conversation- I will discuss with students along one topic.(Example: Where you would like to travel to, how to spend your holidays, hobbies, recent news, what moments make you happy, what moments make you sad, etc.) Grammar- “Minna no Nihongo” is a text book that is used to explain and practice grammar. If you would like tuse other textbooks, please let me know.

Second lesson with Sakura. Another great lesson. Highly recommend learning Japanese from her. She doesn’t speak much English, but knows many words, so she always helps me when I get stuck on a word by giving me the Japanese.

Sakura was really nice! She asked me a lot of questions and typed things out when I was confused about something. She also sent we a few worksheets out of a textbook so I could practice for next time. Great intro lesson.
