I'm a friendly person from SĂŁo Paulo living in Portugal right now.
I believe connection with the one you are talking to is one of the most important keys to learn and improve a language.
I'm also a student (we always have something new to learn) so I know what it feels like to be learning a new language. All the difficulties, frustrations, and all the fun that goes into the learning process.
I like studying and I have many interests, like science, biology, traveling, dance, communication, different cultures, society, etc. It allows us to create interesting conversations in class.

I have used italki to learn Portuguese and in so doing tried various teachers. Catherine is hands down the best teacher I have found. I have had lessons with her for over a year now (using skype) and my skill level has increased tremendously thanks to her. She is always prepared for her lessons and every time has material selected appropriate for her students level of understanding furthermore, she creates a fun, relaxed and professional atmosphere in which to learn. I do not believe you will find a better teacher for Portuguese on italki or online than Catherine.

Catherine is an awesome teacher! When we started our classes I had no previous Portuguese knowledge and now, only a few weeks later, I already feel comfortable with having a full conversation in Portuguese. I can actually feel how I advance with every single class.
Also, she always comes prepared with a plan for the class but everything is flexible in case you prefer focusing on something different. The classes are fun and interesting and everything is done with a smile and a great energy. Thanks to Catherine I'm learning Portuguese faster than I expected and I'm enjoying the process!
