About Me

Hi, I'm Michela, an Italian Language teacher with DITALS certification. I'm a native speaker living near Florence. In 2008, after a degree in Modern Literature, I earned a PhD in Cultural Anthropology in Paris and Siena followed by research and teaching in Italian universities on the role of food in culture. Me as a Teacher
Since 2009, I've been giving Italian Language and Culture courses to adults, including managers, asylum seekers and university students. I offer courses for any level and Language Certification - like CILS, CELI and the new B1 level test for obtaining the italian citizenship - or interest whether tourism, work, study or simply a passion for the language.My lessons & teaching style
All courses will be tailored to your specific needs. I use to share a googledoc to take notes during the classes and a google-drive folder to collect all the course materials. For Certifications specific classes and materials will be provided. Classes can emphasize conversation, vocabulary, written Italian for academic and professional use. For those tourists, students or professionals focusing on the food and wine sector, I am especially qualified to teach specific courses.My teaching material

Thank you Michela for another exceptional lesson. Learning the Italian language from Michela is fun, exciting and most of all rewarding. The learning journey that Michela created for me is flexible. I never feel that we have a deadline to meet.. Michele has created a very comfortable, positive learning environment that allows me to experiment with the language. Learning a new language is about trying new words, phrases: stretching ones comfort zone so to speak. I stretch my comfort zone every week. I make mistakes. Michela inspires and motivates me to study. My only regret is that lesson hour goes way too fast. I can’t wait for our next lesson. Grazie mille Michela.

Another great lesson! We practiced the skills from our textbook and next week we’ll discuss our respective school systems. I look forward to this since I lived in Germany for a year and I’m curious how Italy compares to that system as well as that of the US.
