Please choose a time that starts on the hour (for example: 8:00) and not a time that starts on the half hour.
Please choose the mock exam lesson. I only accept IELTS Preparation students if I have already given them a mock exam.
I returned home to the US four years ago, after teaching at universities in China for 19 years. Before I taught English in China, I was a music teacher in the US and in Mexico and also lived in Vienna, Austria before moving to China. For the last four years I have lived a quiet life in the US with my mother and her three cats.Me as a Teacher
If you have a mock exam with me it will be like taking the real exam, except that I will be taking notes and will probably not be using the video function. I will tell you your score in detail and suggest what you need to do to improve so that you can make your goal score.
If you are one of the two or three students that I accept for IELTS preparation, you should know that my IELTS prep classes are relaxed and I don't give homework. If you want a strict teacher who gives homework there are many others to choose from.My lessons & teaching style
I specialize in giving IELTS mock speaking exams. I have given mock exams for the last four years on other teaching platforms. In March 2022 I started to teach on iTalki. I'm a former IELTS examiner in China, and can give you a mock exam and evaluation. I only offer 45-minute lessons, which is plenty of time for the mock exam and evaluation.
I will only accept two or three students at a time for IELTS preparation lessons. These students must have a mock exam with me first and must have a goal score of 6.5 or higher.
Starting in July, I now offer a Combo Lesson. That's a 90-minute lesson where you can have a mock exam and then an IELTS Preparation Lesson right after it.Certificates
IELTS Examiner - British Council - 2014I have worked for ESL platforms that had teachers who claimed that they had been IELTS examiners but couldn't prove it. I'm including my invitation to examine to show you that I really was an examiner in China starting in 2014 and continuing for a year. I also have an abundance of emails I could show you to prove that I'm what I say I am.

Invitation to Examine IELTS Speaking - British Council - 2014In 2014 I applied to be an IELTS examiner and was invited to the training session. I passed the training and was sent an Invitation to Examine document, which is attached here. Soon after that I started examining IELTS speaking in Nanning, China. I was an examiner for a little over a year, until the rules changed and most IELTS examiners in China lost their jobs. Since then I have taught IELTS online, specializing in giving mock exams and evaluations.

Master's - Music EducationI have bachelor's and master's degrees in Music Education. I taught music for six years, then became interested in teaching ESL. I found that I enjoyed helping students improve their English much more than I did teaching music, so I never returned to it.

Less than three weeks to go before taking my first IELTS test，I took a mock test with Miss Buswell, who is a former IELTS examiner. I gotta say that it was a quite professional experience.
