Ciao! My name is Giada and I'm excited to be your new Italian teacher here! I come from a lovely island in southern Italy, Sicily! I am a passionate teacher and a passionate learner. I have been teaching italian since 2016 to students of all levels and backgrounds. I love traveling. I've been studying foreign languages and languages' structure. I have a bachelor degree in Foreign Languages and modern literatures (2013), a master degree in Modern languages and translation for international relations (2015). I have a master in psychology and new teaching approach, I’ve also a graduation diploma in cooperative learning and I am now specializing in teaching Italian as a second language.
Me as a Teacher
I like to share my culture as much as I like to learn from other cultures, which is why I started to give private Italian lessons to foreigners of every level and from all around the world. I like to understand what my student's goal is and find the most effective way for us to reach it together. In my experience, in order to learn a language, it is very important to speak.
I worked in Manchester to improving my English skills; I worked as a teacher in a technical school (1 year);
I have been working as a private teacher for 5 years.
I worked as a touristic guide in a famous cellar in Sicily: cantine Florio.
I worked in a private school “Antemar” and I taught "italian for business".
My lessons & teaching style
To me, being a good teacher means teaching students how to teach themselves. I do this by helping them understand how to apply their own personal learning style and by spending a lot of time working on developing good practicing techniques.
I believe it is most important for students to be motivated to practice and know how to practice effectively. The amount of time a student should study depending on their level and their goals. For all students it is important to practice every day.

It's hard to keep using superlative in respect of a person's abilities, but I make an exception in Giada's case, as she is the best language teacher I have had...

Giada is the best. I spent almost three months in Sicila in two different trips and did not realize how important the spoken language is different from Mexico (Spanish). She is the best. Much aloha!
Mahalo nui loa Giada! (Big thank you in Hawaiian)

Our lesson yesterday was a great example of how wonderful it is to work with Giada. My brain was not working particularly well and yet we still had a wonderful conversation about several different topics. Giada does a great job keeping me engaged. She asks good questions that keep the conversation going and she is very patient even when I’m struggling to put my thoughts into words.

Our lessons always leave me feeling excited, motivated, and a little more confident in my ability and understanding. That is the difference that Giada makes.

Perhaps the most important thing I have learned from my lessons with Giada is that even if I’m not perfectly fluent or always grammatically correct, I can communicate in the bella lingua and have an enjoyable conversation in the process.
