Emma has been teaching our daughter Mandarin for one year and we couldn’t be happier with our daughter’s improvement. Our daughter Olivia is 5yo and she has had several chinese teachers from italki as well as in person private teachers. None of them have been as good as Emma. Olivia is speaking mandarin fluently thanks to Emma. She is extremely patient and playful during her lessons and allows our daughter to express herself while introducing new vocabulary in their conversations. Emma’s approach with our daughter is very organic making the lessons engaging and very fun. The application Emma uses is much better than Zoom and most other platforms here in the US. We have complete confidence in Emma’s teaching skills and the results are impressive. Most importantly our daughter has developed a very strong bond with Emma which makes her excited for her lessons. I highly recommend Emma as a teacher of Mandarin Chinese. At the time of writing this I've studied with Emma for about 3.5 years and have found her teaching to be of a consistently high standard over that time. As well as enthusiasm for teaching and learning languages, Emma has a lot of teaching experience and this shows in how she has been able to adapt her classes to my goals, level, learning style, and to help me overcome those 'sticking points' of understanding that occasionally come up when learning a language. With the number of teachers on Italki it can be difficult to decide who to begin lessons with and take that first step. I think if you book a lesson with Emma, you will discover for yourself how good she is. My Chinese has certainly improved as a result of these classes, and I have no hesitation in recommending her to you.
