Hi, I'm Katie!
I'm 25 years old, and I'm from the United States. I have a bachelor's degree in international studies and also a minor in French. My first travels began in 2019 around Western Europe, and recently I went on a 3.5 month backpacking trip in Southeast Asia and Australia. I returned to the States in June, and I'm living in the South. I have a passion for different cultures, and I enjoy learning about the way people live around the world.
Some of my other passions include singing and songwriting, music production, hiking, and photography.Me as a Teacher
During my time at university, I had the opportunity to serve as a cultural ambassador to international students. Through conversations in English, I would help my partners improve their pronunciation, grammar, and cultural understanding of America. This experience was extremely rewarding for me; I saw their progress in English as well as their integration into American culture! The experience sparked a love for interacting with different cultures and helping people achieve their goals.
I am TEFL certified, and so far, I have taught over 230 English courses.My lessons & teaching style
Since I have been learning French for over 5 years and Spanish for two years, I understand how scary learning a new language can be. My main goal is to offer a low-pressure and friendly environment for you to practice speaking English. I am very patient and mainly concerned with you creating spontaneous, spoken sentences.
We will also focus on other aspects of language learning such as reading, writing, and listening comprehension. This includes incorporating grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation into our lessons.
