Growing up in a very diverse country cultivated a love for cultures and different languages. A passion to interact with and learn from other cultures inspired me to become a language teacher.
I have a background in science/ academia and love talking about these topics, but I am open to anything students would like to discuss and have always felt quite privileged to be able to learn about many curious things through my students.
I am currently a PhD candidate in Physiology, thus, when I am not teaching, I am probably hiding away somewhere in a lab. On the weekend I love hiking, cooking, reading or spending time with my husband and dogs.
Me as a Teacher
I worked at a multicultural language school and taught many different nationalities from a beginners level up until advanced and have experience in teaching both group and private classes. In addition to this I've taught private classes in various subjects like mathematics, science, biology and languages to secondary school students for the past three years.
My lessons & teaching style
I have an informal, conversational teaching style. My lessons will be structured around your needs so please feel free to communicate with me beforehand if you have specific expectations. I teach from a beginners level up until advanced, but to access your level I will send you a quick quiz before our lesson, which shouldn't take more than 10 min to complete. Please note that this is only to make sure you get the most out of our lesson. At the moment I offer conversational lessons about a text/ video that I will send to you beforehand. This will soon be supplemented with specific grammer and vocabulary lessons so please watch this space!

The conversation with Maryna was wide ranging and interesting under many perspectives. We touched on many topics and the lesson was so interesting that I went well over my comfort zone and forgot the usual fear to make mistakes. It should also be highlighted her patience and kindness.Well done!

Maryna is an excellent teacher. She was able to quickly identify my needs and structure the lessons accordingly.
It was challenging materials in terms of new words, but easy topics that I could easily relate to - a great way to learn new language.

Very good opening lesson. A few technical problems to start but we got there eventually
