I am a patient, friendly and helpful teacher with over 30 years of experience. I divide my time up between the USA and the UK so have a good understanding of both UK English and American English. Living in different countries has enabled me to explore various methods of teaching especially the use of technology in order to communicate and teach online effectively. I am married to an Italian so I have become a language learner myself enabling me to have a good understanding of the challenges faced when learning a new language and to explore what it means to be an online learner as well as a teacher and how important it is to make lessons lively and interesting in order to achieve your goals.Me as a Teacher
I have been lucky enough to teach many different subjects to many different students at many different levels. Before becoming an English language teacher, I was a Primary School teacher. I have taught at an International Baccalaureate school and at a school for children with learning difficulties. As well as helping students of all ages to develop their English language, I support Students working towards IELTS exams or specific English exams such as SATs, 11+ and School Entrance Exams and provide activities to help these students use English more creatively. I love teaching and learning and enjoy exploring new, innovative and interesting methods in order to help you, the student.My lessons & teaching style
I believe it's important to be motivated and to grow in confidence. So, whatever your ability or needs, I will listen to you in order to gauge a starting point for you. I am interested in your interests and like to build lessons around these using a variety of resources in order to make lessons lively and interesting - whether it be Current Affairs, Cooking, Technology, The Environment, Shopping, Travel, History, Elephants, Grammar, Pronunciation, Comprehension or Creativity. I will provide homework activities, using different media so that you can then go on to practise and reinforce what you have learned. I will always provide feedback for this.My teaching material

I am having weekly lessons with Deborah since 2020, and, thanks to her, my knowledge of the English language has increased a lot.
She is an incredible teacher. From the first time that I met her she put me at ease, and she never made me feel anxious or embarrassed, but rather encouraged me to talk and use the English language, correcting my mistakes and helping me develop a fluent speaking and a strong understanding.
The lessons with her are always interesting and the activities she proposes, both as homework and during the lesson, match your English level – challenging you and making you constantly improve.
With Deborah you can talk about anything: thanks to her I learned much not only about English grammar and vocabulary, but also about history and culture.
If you are looking for a teacher that will make you improve your English level, no matter where you start from, Deborah is absolutely an excellent choice.
She is by far the best English teacher I have ever had!

The first lesson and the 260th lesson and every session in between have all been so wonderful for my kids.
Lesson after lesson Deb moves their skills and English level/vocabularies forward. Our goals are ambitious and not easy but Deb has helped us to succeed in all of them. Although we are not in UK, Deb has provided us everything we need for UK curriculum. She is experienced in for 11+/13+ exams. My kids have passed all the entrance exams such as ISEB pretest, CEM, London Consortium , even those for the most competitive independent schools in London successfully . She is continually providing creative materials and techniques all while the kids feel like they are just playing and hanging out with her. She is our star. She has been the single greatest influence (by far) in my children's English journey. Thank you very much Deb.
