Hello everyone! My name is Marien. I am French, from Normandy, in the North-West part of France. I currently live in Croatia. I love freedom, travel, sport, entrepreneurship, language learning, nature walks and, of course, teaching French to foreigners. I have lived and taught French in several countries: Spain, Romania, Scotland, Croatia, Ecuador. I speak French (mother tongue), English, Spanish, Romanian and a bit of Croatian. I am passionate about international life and curious to discover new countries and cultures :).Me as a Teacher
I have a Master’s degree in Language Sciences that allowed me to teach French for five years in different countries: Romania, Scotland, Ecuador and Croatia. I taught French in private and public schools with children, teenagers, adults and professionals. I teach French from A1 level to C2 level. I have DELF-DALF clearance and experience in passing exams. I am careful, patient and attentive to your needs in order to move forward successfully.My lessons & teaching style
During the first session we meet and see together your current level, your needs and objectives. I offer several customized approaches in order to achieve your goals. All language skills (oral and written comprehension, oral and written production) are used in my courses through conversation, reading, exercises, questions, games… I am a quiet person who encourages people to surpass themselves and I will accompany you in your desire to learn and progress in French.Certificates

Talking with Marien is really helpful for my French. He’s generous with writing down helpful words and idioms and always registers how much I understand and then challenges me be a little bit better. It’s also exciting to learn about his international life!

We've got just 1 lesson as of now. However, I can already say that Marien is a great teacher. He is focusing on your needs and quick in reacting on your requests. Also, as he speaks several languages he can give you analogies in other languages. I will definitely continue to work with him.

I've had quite a few lessons with italki but this first lesson with Marien has been the best one yet!
He expertly and nearly effortlessly assessed my level in the French language and quickly put together an appropriate lesson in the first ever session. I cannot say the same for most of the teachers I have had on italki.
I have nothing but praise for this teacher and look forward to learning more from him.
