I am definitely a "life long learner" with a genuine interest in the lives of people around me. I have attended classes in seven different universities after earning my original B.A. in Communications at The Ohio State University. I love to travel and after meeting new people its the art and architecture that I particularly enjoy.
When I am not teaching, my days are filled with music, attempts to keep my orchids blooming, doing yoga, reading, and baking cookies.Me as a Teacher
Years of experience have helped me develop the expertise and patience to support language learners at all levels with widely varying goals. I will act as both teacher and coach to provide practical and relevant instruction that is results-oriented and flexible. If something we are doing just isn't working for you then we modify the approach and materials to help you reach your goals. Both my students and I can realize greater success when we work as a team.My lessons & teaching style
I use both professional English learning systems & strategies to accommodate each unique student's learning goals and learning styles. We will work to improve reading, writing, listening and speaking skills including pronunciation according to your goals and deficiencies. I will include any of the teaching materials listed below if they facilitate and enhance learning for the student. Bachelor’s - BA CommunicationsI earned my Ohio teaching license at Baldwin-Wallace College in 1991and started teaching that same year. I do not have my original OSU diploma here with me in CR. I can provide a copy of my most recent Ohio teaching license that expired July 2018. I do have copies of transcripts from most of the universities where I have studied. I highly appreciate how my business English is continuously improving after Elen`s lessons. She focuses not only on the theory that is provided by books. But pays more attention to context and how I can use knowledge in my real life. Because of that, my vocabulary expanded. And I feel much more confident in business conversations. Moreover, Elen has great knowledge of the business and tech landscape. This means we do not spend time to get a shared understanding of how business flow works and improve speaking instead
