My name is GULIA I am Italian and I come from a small town near Venice. I lived and worked as Italia teacher in many countries: Portugal, Perù, Tanzania, Sri Lanka, Ethiopia, Myanmar, Colombia and South Africa. I have learnt a lot and that helps me to be a better teacher. I love nature, art, music, sport, reading, movies, astronomy. I also speak English, Spanish and some French and Portuguese, studying a foreign language helps me understand the challenges and weaknesses of my students.Me as a Teacher
I am a qualified teacher of Italian language and culture (first and second level Master degree)I am also an examiner for CELI, PLIDA and CILS exams.The best compliment I ever received from a student is: "Giulia you have big ears". It's really important to know what students like, what are the most challenging parts of the language for them, to predict their mistakes and help them learn from them. I have though to students coming from 51different countries, it's always a new challenge. Research shows that when you are happy and do fun things you learn quickly and effectively, it's true. I always aim to create and maintain a positive and harmonious atmosphere when working together.My lessons & teaching style
Learning a language means opening your mind to new ideas.It's a challenge but with the right method and a bit of curiosity it's an adventure .I like to organise my lessons in a dynamic and fun way and to propose activities that allow you to use the language since the beginning.Let's start from what you are curious about and then work on various aspects: new words, pronunciation, construction of sentences. All tailored and designed for you. Language and culture are closely linked, even when I present grammar I always give examples and tell a lot about our traditions. I have been taking conversation practice sessions with Giulia for the past several months and she always is pleasant and patient to talk to. My Italian has improved over time and I recommend Giulia as tutor to anyone at any level of Italian. She is excellent at remembering topics to bring up that interest me and always creates a stress free atmosphere. I was nervous at first to begin speaking Italian, but now I always look forward to our weekly conversations. Occasionally in our sessions, she will use very light classroom style exercises and will use them as a jumping off point for further conversation. I cannot wait to continue improving my Italian after my trip.

I’m always impressed with Giulia’s classes. I feel like I have made a lot of progress already because I didn’t know any Italian when I started learning with Giulia. She uses just the right level of Italian to push me, but doesn’t speak too fast or with too advanced vocabulary. She’s a very motivating instructor that makes learning Italian an absolute pleasure. I look forward to every lesson with her!
