I've worked with a few teachers on this platform thus far and I have perhaps my best experience with Aya-sensei. She made me feel more confident in my speech and allowed me to speak freely while offering many improvements to the sentences I constructed. Strongly recommend!

Aya es mi primer y mejor amigo japonés. Cada vez que tomo una clase con ella después de un descanso en mis estudios me doy cuenta de ello. Hablamos como si nos hubieramos visto ayer, y eso me da confianza y me permite hablar japonés cómodamente. Además, siempre encuentra la manera de traducir al japonés la forma enrevesada que tengo de expresarme. Sus correcciones a mis frases "en directo" en el chat me son de gran ayuda para repasar y estudiar el japonés mas fiel a mi forma de hablar. Para mi, Aya sensei es la mejor herramienta de estudio del idioma que he podido encontrar!

I've been taking picture explanation classes with Aya for a while now, and I feel like I've been able to see concrete progress -- for me, this has turned out to be a great alternative to conversation classes as picture explanations allow you to actively build vocab while getting your speaking practice in. We've covered topics that wouldn't necessarily come up in conversation classes, and slowing down to explain a photo is a great way to focus on your output. Aya's classes have an encouraging and calm vibe and she allows you to take your time to find the correct words. Her approach is professional, kind and well thought out. Would highly recommend her classes!

I got to hear and see more words and different sentence structures.

Last class I brought a few words with similar meanings so that I could understand the different nuances between them, and thanks to Aya san's explanation and examples I could easily grasp them. The classes are always pleasant and productive, and even though I still lack so much vocabulary and knowledge of the language, conversation in Japanese with Aya san always flows so smoothly and naturally! :) Looking forward to our next class!
