You know what? I used to think I was a terrible language learner too! That’s what school had me believing. But the truth? Traditional methods just didn’t work for me. After a few solo trips, I finally found my groove. I embraced a more communicative approach—talking to people wherever I went. Whether it was haggling at the market in Murcia, chatting on the beaches of Las Palmas, or getting hilariously lost in Manchester and asking for directions in my broken English, I realized that’s how I learn best.
❗ I hold a Master’s degree in Language and Linguistics from Bologna + a CEDILS certification for teaching Italian.

I’m an empathetic and attentive teacher who focuses on listening to my students' needs.
I believe in helping people shift their mindset, especially those who think it's too late to learn a language as adults.

I have been learning Italian on and off for a few months, trying different online tutors and language learning apps with mixed results. I finally found Valeria who immediately demonstrated a much more thorough approach to language learning, and has helped me quickly improve my level in Italian in the few weeks I have been taking classes with her.
Valeria follows a more holistic approach to language learning covering listening, speaking, reading and writing (most other online tutors have an unbalanced focus on oral conversation). Also unlike most other online tutors, Valeria covers a decent amount of grammar and conjugation with the student, but does so progressively to not overwhelm the learning process.
Valeria shares a sizeable set of materials which she goes through during her classes, giving the opportunity to go over the material in my free time to review any points from the class.
If you are serious about learning Italian, I highly recommend you book a class with Valeria.

I have been taking lessons with Valeria for about 6 months, after having completed the Duolingo Italian program. At first, I had a lot of trouble understanding basic sentences and expressing myself, but over time I’ve become able to hold simple conversations and discuss topics for an entire hour. Valeria is extremely patient and supportive and adapts her lessons and homework to the areas I most need to develop. I’m genuinely pleased and surprised how quickly my language skills are developing and happy that I chose to study with Valeria!

I have really enjoyed my lessons with Valeria. She has a great demeanor as an instructor and is able to adapt each lesson to the student / skill level. I find her to be very relatable and easy to talk to, which makes the conversation more comfortable for a new learner. Highly recommend!
